How it started
In early 2024, we noticed something strange: brands with strong Google rankings were completely absent when we asked ChatGPT and Perplexity the same questions. The shift to AI-generated answers was already happening — and most marketing teams had no way to measure it.
We built the first version of Craawled to answer one question: "Does our brand get mentioned when people ask AI about our category?" What started as an internal tool quickly became something larger — a full analytics platform that tracks mentions, sentiment, and competitor presence across ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Grok, Copilot, and Google AI Overviews.
